Description
A rustic, naturally gluten-free almond tart featuring a chewy almond crust and sweet-tart apple topping.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ground almonds (almond flour)
- 2 tablespoons honey or natural sweetener
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- ¼ cup sliced almonds for decoration
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C) and lightly grease an 8-inch springform pan.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground almonds, honey, egg, cinnamon, and salt until a slightly sticky dough forms.
- Press the dough evenly across the bottom and slightly up the sides of the prepared pan.
- Toss the apple slices with lemon juice and a pinch of cinnamon; arrange them in an overlapping pattern on the almond base.
- Scatter the sliced almonds over the top for extra crunch and visual appeal.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes until the edges are golden and the apples are tender. Cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Use firm apples for best texture. Store leftovers in the refrigerator up to three days. Reheat slices at 300 °F for five minutes to restore crisp edges.
