Description

Soft, pillowy garlic naan made with cottage cheese for extra protein and tenderness. Ready in under an hour!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup plain yogurt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Blend cottage cheese until smooth. Mix with yogurt, minced garlic, olive oil, and salt.
  2. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl. Add wet ingredients and stir to form a shaggy dough.
  3. Knead 5 minutes until soft and slightly tacky. Cover and rest 30 minutes.
  4. Mix melted butter with garlic powder; set aside.
  5. Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Divide dough into 6 balls. Roll each into a ¼-inch thick oval.
  7. Cook one piece at a time until bubbles form and bottom is golden, about 1 minute. Flip, brush with garlic butter, and cook 30–45 seconds more.
  8. Stack finished garlic naan in a towel to stay warm. Repeat with remaining dough.

Notes

Use full-fat cottage cheese for the softest texture. Store leftovers in an airtight container up to 2 days or freeze up to 2 months. Reheat in a hot skillet for best results.
